We are very proud to have our very own Principal Campbell and Medical Assistant Sara Watts featured as a part of this School based health initiative from Lincoln Health. LincolnHealth’s School-Based Health Centers bring medical and behavioral health services into community schools to keep students and staff healthy. it’s yet another cool program offered at BRHS!

Education Boothbay’s mission is to enrich the educational experiences of students and teachers in ways that cannot usually be addressed through traditional methods of funding.

Through innovative resources and tools, we help students learn skills to be successful in their future careers.

As a 501(c)3 organization, Education Boothbay offers an opportunity for the community to make a tax-free donation to support and strengthen our schools.

Student skiff highlights hands-on education

How many high schoolers can say they have built a boat? Probably not many unless they have taken a course from Chip Schwehm. Schwehm runs a program at Boothbay Region High School (BRHS) teaching students how to build a boat by hand. Their last project, a 12-foot skiff, was recently auctioned off and the proceeds went to benefit local education. 

The boat sold at a silent auction in September for $2,500 after being on display at Boothbay Region YMCA. Of the proceeds, $1,200 went to cover the cost of materials. The rest went to Education Boothbay, which supports local teachers and students and helped set up the auction. Schwehm said the organization has been a big supporter of the school’s programs, and donated the workshop’s CNC router and other technology. Read Full Story

TODAY’S STUDENTS - TOMORROW’S LEADERS

Education Boothbay started as the Boothbay Region Education Foundation (BREF), a 501(c)(3) organization that has been enriching the education opportunities in the Boothbay region for years. In 2020 the Board of Trustees rebranded BREF as Education Boothbay, but our by-laws, and mission to enhance educational opportunities for students in the Boothbay region remains unchanged.

MOORE MUSIC LEGACY PARTNERSHIP

Education Boothbay, is pleased to announce it has partnered with the Moore Music Legacy to establish the Moore Music Legacy fund. The Moore family established the Moore Music Legacy to honor Jay and Doug Moore by promoting a life long love of music for children in the Boothbay region. Education Boothbay’s Moore Music Legacy Fund continues that commitment by providing grants to support music and performing arts programming at school. The funds are already being put to good use. Education Boothbay recently approved a grant request to off-set the royalty fees for Boothbay Region High school’s fall musical, “The Marvelous Wonderettes,” and the spring musical, “Newsies.” Read More
